Welcome to ICGN139: Scientific Inquiry & the Community. This is the first time we’re running this class, and it’s the 2-credit version of ICGN114 Scientific Approach and Society. We kept the best parts of ICGN114, then tightened things up so the course feels more active, more focused, and more “learn by doing.”
The biggest change is the Main Project and how much time you’ll spend working together. You’ll go from ideas to real fieldwork pretty quickly, then turn what you find into insights and a poster you can proudly show off. Expect lots of teamwork, lots of sharing, and plenty of moments where you’ll learn from other groups just as much as your own work.
